Fellowship Program

Home > Fellowship Program

Our two-year fellowship program in clinical pharmacology is designed for licensed physicians interested in a career in clinical pharmacology and clinical trials. Preferred candidates for admission will be board certified or board eligible in any other specialty. Candidates who are not board eligible may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The first year of fellowship training requires the fellow to obtain a master’s degree in clinical trials. Supervised by the clinical pharmacology faculty and taught by faculty members from a number of disciplines at The Ohio State University, our ongoing master’s degree program provides students with professional training for a future in the pharmaceutical industry. The curriculum includes required courses in statistics, pharmacokinetics, general pharmacology, and clinical trial design.

During the second fellowship year, fellows are required to teach master’s-level coursework—specifically, Clinical Trials I and II (Pharmacology 825 and 826). The content of these courses includes the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, Good Clinical Practices, and all aspects of drug and device development. Fellows will also gain expertise outside of our phase I/II program via instruction in pediatric clinical trials, laboratory techniques, and later-phase studies.

  • Application deadline is May 1st for July enrollment.
